Airbrush Tan

Introduction

Airbrush Tans are a beneficial way to get a beautiful, radiant glow without damaging your skin from the sun. Discuss with your airbrush tan artist, the level of darkness you desire for your tan.

How to prepare for an airbrush tan?

1 ) Waxing, manicures, pedicures, and facials should be done 24-48 hours before your airbrush tanning appointment.

Waxing and facials can remove your airbrush tan from your body if you get these services after your airbrush tanning appointment, so be sure to schedule accordingly.

2 ) Moisturize! Dry skin is the enemy of an even, natural sunless tan so you must moisturize your skin every day for the 3 to 5 days leading up to your airbrush tan.

DO NOT moisturize the day of your airbrush tan or after your airbrush tan until you’ve taken your first shower after the tan has fully developed.

3 ) Exfoliate and shave the night before your appointment.

We recommend exfoliating the night before your appointment so you can remove dead skin cells from your skin. A fresh layer of skin helps the solution properly adhere to your body, so you get an even, flawless looking tan.

BONUS TIP: Avoid using shower products that contain a high pH level, bar soaps, and in-shower moisturizers

4 ) The day of your appointment, you want to have clean skin with nothing on it when you go in for your sunless tan so refrain from using moisturizers, perfumes, lotions, oils or deodorants that may cause a barrier between your skin and the airbrush tanning solution.

Likewise, it’s best to remove your makeup before your airbrush tan appointment—eyeliner and mascara are ok!

Resume use only after your first shower.

5 ) Bring or wear dark, loose clothing and flip-flops to put on after your airbrush tanning appointment.

We recommend avoiding wearing jewelry, undergarments, socks, tight clothing–or white clothing, until after your first shower ( 8 – 10 hours after your appointment ) just to be on the safe side. You don’t want to rub off your airbrush tan before it’s had adequate time to develop!

6 ) Wait at least 8 – 10 hours after your appointment before showering… the longer the better for optimum results!

BONUS TIP: We recommend rinsing with warm water only for your first shower. After your first shower, it’s ok to use non-abrasive soaps (no bar soap!) and gels, but do not exfoliate for at least 5 – 7 days. Keep in mind, added bronzers will wash away during the first shower, this is normal!

NOTE: Chlorine can cause your airbrush tan to fade faster.
